Summer holidays are the best!

I am so lucky, I now only work during term time. So I get to have 5 whole weeks off with my 3 little rascals!

We are a little over half way in and we have had some lovely days. We have been to some workshops that have been either free or rather cheap at local places. Today was pirate Lego making.

I took Marley and my nephew, Cole along with my partner and his son. They are all similar ages so was a good boys day which promoted working as a team as well as individual little projects. The boys all seemed to really enjoy it!

We have also been to messy play workshops where the children have potato printed onto material and then turned the material into little bags! Such a sweet idea.

It’s been so nice to see the older girls enjoy the little things and being creative and silly again. School really does seem to have an effect on them which makes them act older than their years. Now I feel like I have children again instead of mini teenagers, I definatly have to keep on top of the activities that keep them creative and young.

Pretty and pink

We have recently redecorate Laila’s bedroom. After being in our house for 2.5 years, it was well over due. I’m still waiting for a few bits to be put up on the walls. I have a amazing vanity mirror from B&m to go up, same as what we put in Hallies room back in May.

The prints I got were from a Instagram small business called sweetiepaperie. Frames from good old ikea!

Will also need abit of a clear out and organise over the summer but over all I am so happy with how it’s looking. As is Laila. Hopefully will last her a few years to come.

Take a look below! K x

The redecorating bug has got me!!

It was my 30th birthday recently. My partner an I had planned a weekend to the lakes child free. But instead I decided last minute since we were both child free why not surprise the kids by swapping rooms and making a start on the decorating!!

Some have questioned my sanity over this, But I had been so excited and had this image in my head of what I wanted for Hallies new room (Marleys old room) I just wanted it to happen as quickly as possible!

We worked so hard for about 36 hours to swap decorate and build and put it to place. I am so happy with it too!

Hallies reaction was perfect, She was speechless, her eyes filled up and she hugged me so tight! No way could the lakes have beaten that reaction!

Can’t wait to get started on Lailas and Marleys now!!

Check it out! Kx

A tidy person in a messy persons body..

Do you ever feel like you need to get more organisation in your life but things feel so hectic you don’t know where to start? That’s how I’m feeling right now too.

But I’ve decided I need to make a start. I saw a Instagram post and a lady had started just by setting herself a room or 2 in the house per day along with a job you always plan to get round to but never quite get there. Keeping your paperwork in some kind of order for example.

I thought this was a good idea as most days of the week I find myself doing pretty much all of the same things and not getting round sorting through cupboards and boxes or reorganizing as much as I would like to. I find myself faffung and riding up after the kids when really they are all more than capable to do most of it themselves.

So, I am going to make a start. My plan is to make my way though the kitchen and the cupboard downstairs before the end of the weekend, throwing, donating or selling anything that has been left unused for a period of time. May also get to do a bit of shopping for storage solutions. Also will get the kids to do their bit.a bit of responsibility may do them good.  I am hoping that once it’s done we will find the enthusiasm to keep on top of it all. Wish doesn’t always happen I must admit. 2 out of my 3 seem to suffer with this same problem.

I love my home I really do. I just don’t have the discipline to keep it looking it’s best all day long. Not that it’s messy or dirty, more lived in. I feel that if I had more routine that I would become better at having the best of both… or is that unrealistic? I am unsure.

I am totally open to suggestions, hints and tips… please help!

Laila turned 10!!..

A couple of days ago my first born had her 10th birthday!

We went out for breakfast with most of the family, all her cousins were there and we took her bestie with us too. When we got home we started to set up for her little tea party. She went for a emoji theme and had a few friends over. They played make overs, card games and well there was a lot of selfie taking and giggling going on. Before we knew it her friends had gone home and we were blowing up balloons and singing happy birthday with a emoji cake with family all over again. Was a lovely day.

She had a lot of birthday money so we had a shopping day. Just the 2 of us. We went into lots of girlie shops and brought lots of bits and bobs. Was nice for me that even though we were buying make up, lush bathbombs, earrings and most of claires accessories, She really enjoyed going to build a bear and having so much choice of what to get. Was nice to see that she still enjoys being a little girl too.

Happy birthday baby girl. Kx

A little make over..

I think that your 20s are a strange time. Everything changes from early to mid to late. Your friendships, lifestyle, wants, needs and likes. I became a mom a few months before i turned 20 so i grew up faster than a lot of my friends. And my taste was more of what i thought others would like of find acceptable and was easily led by others opinions so i never really fell in love with our first homes. Which looking back is quite sad.

Now i am a few months from turning 30. We moved into this house 2 years ago and i really feel like i am finally finding my style and have more vision for my home. I have recently added a few bits to my girls room, my room and the kitchen have had a little make over too.

There is plenty more i want to do to, but i am enjoying looking for inspiration and coming up with ideas more than i ever have before! Kx

Making a house a home..

Just lately i feel like i have grown in confidence. I am more confident in my own likes, wants, needs and style. Especially around our home.

Recently we had a new sofa delivered and well, I seemed to find so much inspiration out of nowhere. I decided i wanted to move one of the old sofas into the far end of the kitchen to make a little snug space hoping to make the kitchen area more sociable. That meant i also needed a new kitchen table to fit else where in the roon. Still trying to be sensible of course, my mom and I went and had a look around a charity shop to see if i could find the type of things I was looking for. I found a table i liked and got it home ready to be painted up. I love the results.

I also picked up some other bits and bobs too.

Not sure where this happy sign will go yet but I really want it somewhere around the house.

I have almost finished redoing my bedroom too. I will share with you soon.
